Championship-winning GT team Steller Motorsport announces plans to run the Corvette Z06 GT3.R from Chevrolet and Corvette Racing across multiple championships in 2025.

The team, based close to the Silverstone Circuit in the UK will take delivery of two brand new Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs ahead of the start of a test programme starting from January 2025.

The team will reveal its full 2025 racing program in the near future, but is currently eyeing potential efforts in ELMS, Michelin Le Mans Cup, GT World Challenge and British GT with a yet-to-be-confirmed group of drivers.

Gary Blackham, Team Principal Steller Motorsport:

“We looked long and hard at the available options in GT3 before opting to join the Corvette family.

“The Z06 GT3.R is a stunning car, beautifully engineered and designed from the off as a true endurance racer.  The team, and our customers that have seen the car already, are truly excited by the prospect of racing with one of the most successful brands in sportscar racing.”

“We look forward to working with Steller Motorsport starting in 2025 as we expand the global programme for the Corvette Z06 GT3.R,” said Jessica Dane, Corvette Z06 GT3.R Programme Manager. “The team has experienced success in various GT4 championships in Europe, and we are happy that Steller Motorsport has chosen the Corvette GT3 as it progresses up the GT ladder of racing throughout Europe.”

The Corvette GT3 race car, constructed by Pratt Miller Motorsports in New Hudson, Michigan, is based on the production Corvette Z06 with the two sharing more common elements than any previous Corvette racing and street vehicle. The Z06 GT3.R’s aluminium chassis frame and the 5.5-litre, flat-plane crankshaft V8 engine both come from Chevrolet’s Bowling Green Assembly factory in Kentucky.

In its first year of competition, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R competed in three series – IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship and GT World Challenge America – and netted 11 victories and 12 pole positions with multiple podium finishes in each championship.

The Steller Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs will be available for inspection by serious interested parties early in the new year. Pre-season testing opportunities are planned and available.

The team already has some confirmed drivers for these programmes, but is also interested to speak to suitable drivers interested in competing in these championships with the truly stunning GT3 Corvette.
